The University of Toronto is planning to amalgamate the East Asian, German, Italian, Slavic, and Spanish/Portuguese departments into one super-department known as the "School of Languages and Literatures." The SPC has also recommended that the Centre for Comparative Literature be transferred to the proposed School and be redefined as a Collaborative Program.
